Advances in dental CAD/CAM technology and the demand for all-ceramic restorations have accelerated the development of new aesthetic and high-strength ceramics in restorative dentistry. Lithium disilicate three-unit fixed dentures obtained only 87.9% survival rate and 69.8% success rate after 10 years (Matthias et al., 2012). One of the developments was reinforcing lithium silicate with approximately 20 % zirconia to form zirconia-reinforced lithium silicate glass ceramic. They have higher flexural strength and improved transparency, but significantly higher grinding resistance. A material with higher strength is more difficult to grind. There are two main manufacturers of this material on the market ( Vita Suprinity, VITA Zahnfabrik and Celtra Duo, Dentsply Sirona).
Especially for zirconia-reinforced lithium silicate, Jota has developed a kit 1452 that will make it easier to process this material in the laboratory.

Some recommendations:

• Process and polish the material best in a pre-crystallized state,
• Grind the entire occlusal surface with red diamond to smooth CAM-related relief,
• Uuse only fine grit diamonds or abrasives,
• Polish with diamond polishers at low pressure and low speed,
• Aalways polish the occlusal and contact surfaces, even if you are going to glaze the restoration
